My name is Eliška and I am 32 years old.&nbsp;I'm currently in kindergarten and I'm kind of the secretary of my brother Aleš, for whom I'm asking for help.

On Christmas Day 2019, Aleš fell off his motorcycle and became paralyzed on all 4 limbs.&nbsp;Now at Christmas is "celebrated" the anniversary of the fall.&nbsp;My mother is happy to be able to take care of my brother, with which she is helped by my brother's girlfriend, who is still studying.&nbsp;If I can't help him move his arms or put him on his feet, even if I really wish, I try to help at least by doing administrative things for him, dealing with the authorities, etc. Unfortunately, I can't help anymore, because I live in Brno and my brother&nbsp;is living&nbsp;with mom in Lithohor.

Aleš does not feel his feet at all, he can move his arms, but he cannot control his toes.&nbsp;He used to be a completely normal boy, went to work (he worked as a production operator), worked out and was freshly in love with his girlfriend.&nbsp;His greatest passion was riding motorcycles, which turned his life upside down on Christmas Day.

What happened to Aleš?

It was a beautiful day, so he and his friend took a ride on their motorcycles.&nbsp;As they returned home, he saw a small stream between the fields, followed by a waterfall.&nbsp;Unfortunately, he fell on his cervical spine with the whole weight of his body.He was conscious after the fall, but he knew it was bad, very bad.&nbsp;He couldn't move at all!&nbsp;This time, his guardian angel must have taken some time off.

CT scan showed a lot of vertebral fractures, a dislocated shoulder, but mainly a fragmentary cervical vertebra fracture at the C5 / C6 level and an almost severed spinal cord.&nbsp;A difficult cervical spine operation followed.&nbsp;He couldn't even breathe on his own without the help of instruments, and no one knew if he would ever breathe on his own.&nbsp;They kept him asleep because of the pain.

Aleš did not give up.&nbsp;He didn't want to admit that he wouldn't go again.&nbsp;He spent 3 and a half months in the hospital.During that time he could not speak for more than a month and had to learn to swallow again.&nbsp;He then spent 5 months at the Rehabilitation Institute in Kladruby, where he hoped for a miracle, which unfortunately did not happen.&nbsp;He was released for home treatment in September 2020 and is now cared for by his mother and girlfriend.

He is very happy for any progress, but he takes the situation as it is.&nbsp;The whole time he was supported by his family, especially his mother and girlfriend Iveta, who did not give up on him and did not break up with him, despite the fact that he knows that their life together will be completely different than she ever imagined.&nbsp;And it will definitely not be easy with him.

Maybe some of you will condemn him and say that riding a motorcycle is dangerous and that he is to blame, as he would like.&nbsp;But he had more than enough time to think about it and figure out what it would be like.&nbsp;But now he just won't change what happened, even if he really wants to.&nbsp;All he has to do is work on himself and try to be independent so that he doesn't feel like someone's burden.&nbsp;He would like to have a chance at a life as normal as possible.&nbsp;But it involves a lot of different aids and equipment, which costs a lot of money.

Now what he needs the most is a new car, which would be specially adapted to his needs.&nbsp;You can probably imagine that Mom and his girlfriend won't get him in a normal car on their own - he's quite tall and his basically limp body weighs over 80 kg, so he has to spend most of his time at home, even if he likes to go on a trip or visit&nbsp;friends.

Aleš had the opportunity to try a couple of cars adapted to the needs of the handicapped and we found out that he needs a really big car.&nbsp;In standard cars, it bangs its head against the ceiling due to its height, and loading an electric and mechanical car also requires a lot of space.

The best offer we have received was from a supplier now in January - CZK 900,000 (42,000 USD).&nbsp;Well, that's enough money.&nbsp;We are trying to withdraw 450 thousand (20,000 USD) from the Barriers Account.&nbsp;The question is whether this is realistic within one year.&nbsp;Furthermore, the brother should be entitled to 200 thousand (9,000 USD) from the Labor Office and we will ask 2 foundations for a contribution, but we do not know if they will approve the contribution and how much.Most foundations are more for children and there are not many foundations that contribute to the car for handicapped adults.

That is why we will be very grateful for any financial contribution, if Aleš is at least a little sympathetic to you or if you are interested in his story and would like to help him.
