Gesture which saved a life

Read a moving story about a bullIed boy called Kyle and how one simple act can change one's life.

Ben was a newbie  in a new high school. One Friday he saw his classmate, who was called Kyle, when he was going home to school. Kyle was carrying all his books from school. Ben thought, "Why is he taking all his books home for the weekend? He must be a fool."

Ben just lifted his shoulders, continued his journey, and with his thoughts he returned to the program for the next weekend, when he was facing a football match and a party with his friends. As he was walking on, he noticed a group of boys running toward Kyle.

The boys hit him so hard that his glasses flew off, all the books flew over the whole place and Kyle ended up on the ground. Ben's was looking at Kyle, whose eyes saw a terrible sadness. He ran to him, and as he handed him his glasses, tears flickered in his eye. He told him, "The boys are idiots, don't bother."

Kyle smiled sincerely and thanked him with gratitude. A new friend helped Kyle collect books. From another talk, they found that they were living side by side.

Ben asked Kyle why he hadn't seen him before. It turned out that Kyle had been attending another school before and hadn't met children from other schools. Ben took him home and invited him to a football match with his friends on Saturday. Kyle enthusiastically agreed.

Not only during the match but throughout the weekend the boys were together and the more Ben knew him, the better he liked him. Kyle also liked Ben's friends very much.

On Monday, Ben saw Kyle go to school with all of his books and said to him, "You will have huge muscles if you wear these books every day." Kyle laughed and handed Ben some books to help him carry them.

Over the next four years, Kyle and Ben became best friends. After graduation, their paths split because they went to study at different universities.

Kyle became a very successful student, and on his graduation day he was honored to give the final speech. He began by saying that graduating from the university is the right time to thank those who helped you overcome those difficult years of study. They are your parents, teachers, siblings, maybe trainers, but especially your friends.

"Friendship is the greatest gift you can give to someone."

Kyle then shocked everyone present when he thanked his best high school friend and confessed to knowing him just the day he wanted to commit suicide.

The reason he used take all the books back home was simple. He didn't want his mom to worry about them after his death. The life of the bullied Kyle changed the day Ben helped him up, escorted him home, and invited him to football. To save one precious human life was enough to do so little…
